Step-by-Step Australia Student Visa (Subclass 500) Application Process

Step 1 – Get a Letter of Offer
You will receive a Letter of confirmation from the university where you have applied. Read the letter carefully. It will contain the information about your course, fee, and timeline. It is recommended to Keep a copy of the Letter of Offer.
Step 2 – Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
You will receive a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) after you have accepted the Letter of Offer. You need to include a copy of your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) in the online visa application form.
Step 3 – Language Proficiency Proof
You will learn and talk in English in Australia. The Australian Government requires proof of the English Language Test. Different universities and courses have set their requirements for Language Scores.
To be eligible for the Student Visa, you need to take any one of the following tests with the minimum test score:
- IELTS: 6.0
- TOEFL: 64
- Cambridge English Advance: 169
- PTE: 50
- Occupational English Test: B in each component
If you are a National of the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Canada, New Zealand, or the Republic of Ireland, then you are exempt from Language Test.

Step 5 – Proof of Funds
You must prove that you have enough money to support yourself in Australia throughout your stay. You can do that through the following two options:

- Proof of your parent or partner’s income which must be AUD$62,222 in the year immediately before you apply.
Step 6 – Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
